The Difference Between Web2 and Web3 Marketing.

Anonymity is the key difference between Web2 & Web3 marketing.

Every other thing is the same.

Two major touchpoints are where this anonymity becomes a challenge for Web3 founders or marketers from a Web2 background.

1. Retention: When a user enters your protocol and signs into your service, it’s the marketer’s responsibility to retain them and keep them for as long as possible.

It's extremely difficult to maximize their lifetime value when you cannot communicate directly with your users.

2. Acquisition: acquiring users that are not yours is difficult.

Following the wallet activities isn’t enough to understand your target audience and advertise to them.

Companies providing blockchain analytics services, such as MessariCrypto, chainalysis, NansenAI, and ArkhamIntel, are now solving anonymity challenges.

These tools now replace the hubspots and Salesforce of Web2.

They help you understand once there is a conversion event, what was the campaign that brought the liquidity or users to your protocol.

Was it an influencer that retweeted you or wrote a thread?

Or are people calling you out on the timeline?

Or did your community organise an event without informing you?

Generally speaking, these tools help you trace where a user came from.

What gap have you experienced in Web2 or Web3 marketing?

Are you looking for ways to market your Web3 project, or are you stuck with a strategy?
